Sometimes it is hard to pick out a gift for a man. Men
appreciate
whatever you buy for them, but new shirts or ties just aren't very
interesting. Men don't get the same kick out of new clothing
as
many women do. Power tools are useful, but are associated
with
work, and a gift should not come with chores!
Need a better gift idea for a man? I know I sure did.
Every
year I rack my brain trying to come up with an original idea for my
father for his birthday, Father's day, and Christmas. He has
all
the clothes, tools, cologne, gift certificates, and yard supplies he
could ever use. Then I hit on a great idea. Fishing
lures!
My father loves to fish, and prefers the challenge of fishing
with lures to dunking worms for bluegills. But to make a
really
attractive gift they would have to be packaged nicely. I
scoured
the internet looking for just the right thing, but all the
"Fisherman's" gift baskets were stuffed with processed cheese,
chocolate fish, and picture frames with cartoonish fish on them.
I don't know any real man that wants that.
So I created my own gift basket with great lures that I use myself, and
I knew would work for him. And rather than a wicker basket, I
used an actual fisherman's utility box as a base. After
decorating with colorful shred, I shrink-wrapped the whole thing. When
my father opened the gift for his birthday, he was thrilled!
And
all my brothers wondered where I bought such a cool gift so perfect for
a real fisherman! And that was the beginning of my business.
I'm not out to grow rich from my business, I just want to serve a niche
that others don't. To many people, trying to pick fishing
stuff
from the thousands of items at the local sporting good store is
impossible. But that is exactly what a fisherman wants.
So
I provide a great service by doing the legwork and picking all the best
lures. I pack them in Plano tackle boxes, which I have found
to
be the best quality available. I include only lures
I use
myself, whatever they may cost. I am not
about to skimp on quality to offer low cost baskets. It is
silly
to spend hundreds or thousands on boats, motors, gas, lodging, boat
launch fees, rods and reels, and then try to save a few dollars on the
fishing lures. Finally, I carefully arrange the lures to make
a
gift that is as attractive as it is useful. If he likes
fishing,
these gifts baskets will surely make him smile!
Don't forget, fishing lures are also collectibles. The wide
variety of types, styles and colors make them interesting to buy, use,
or just collect. If you don't believe me, search eBay for
"old fishing lures". Since lure models and colors
tend to
come and go,
lures that go out of production can become quite rare and valuable.
Some can be worth hundreds of dollars. Heck, even
the
EMPTY BOXES for some lures fetch good prices. So if you need
a
new gift idea for a man in your life, try one of my unique gift baskets
for fishermen!
