The
walleye is a prized gamefish wherever it is found. Sought
after
for it's delicious taste and trophy size, walleyes can be a great
challenge for fishermen. Actives walleyes will smash the Bomber flat A,
either trolled or casted. The Rapala Shad Rap is arguably the
most famous of all crankbaits, known for it's wide action that draws
strikes. The Northland Mimic Minnow is a fun lure to use.
Often effective on walleyes, it also works for many other
gamefish, from crappies to northern pike. Walleyes are most often found
near the bottom. Apex Jigheads rigged with plastic Swirltails
are
very effective. I've included extra plastic Thumpin' Tails
from
Little Joe in Charteuse and Orange. Along with the pink Apex
tails, these are my favorite colors for walleye. The
Lindy
Fuzz-E-Grubs have been catching walleyes for decades and are a
necessity for walleye fishermen. This is one of my favorite
